SEBA SERRA / Production Designer
My passion for film and television started at a very early age. Drawing monsters, tagging walls, building spaceships and breaking toys. Feeling hipnotized by that world. So I took the first important step and got my degree in Film Studies at the University of Buenos Aires. However, I didn’t feel this was enough and pursued several courses in Design, Architecture and History of Art in order to ensure that I would be fully equipped to jump into the world of film.
I started working as an Art Director and Production Designer in 2003 and have been extremely lucky in that. Working consistently in this field on commercials, feature films, music videos and drama projects since then. Crossing between Latin America, Europe and even Africa. That gave me the opportunity to work with many interesting directors, cinematographers as well as great production companies.
Among many talented directors and cinematographers worldwide, I’ve teamed up with Johan Renk, Traktor, Henry Alex Rubin, Philippe Andre, Everardo Gout, Hoyte Van Hoytema, Ellen Kuras, Jan Wentz, Nick Gordon, Nima Neurizadeh, Augusto Gimenez Zapiola, Martín Romanella, among others. Worked with Production companies such as Stink, Radical Media, Somesuch, RSA Films, Partizan, Pioneer, Birth, Markenfilm, Tempomedia, Steam Films, Iconoclast, Anonymous Content and Smuggler in multiple destinations including Buenos Aires, Barcelona, Lisboa, Madrid, Morocco, Bulgaria, Hungary, Cuba and Paris.
Every job is the chance to feel I’m a drawer, a painter, a castle builder, toys designer or even an engineer. I also believe that every job brings always a new challenge and a new learning experience. I love discovering artists, friends and I treasure the creative relationships that I have been able to establish over the years.
